Casting Call For Benji
Thursday, May 31, 2012
The studio started a Facebook page where dog owners and shelter workers can post pictures of dogs they think resemble the famous raggedy pup.
Writer, director and producer Brandon Camp, director of Love Happens and son of Benji creator Joe Camp, Jr., will direct a contemporary remake of the popular Benji series.
“Finding the right dog to play him is an essential element of making this movie, so we’re casting a wide net and leaving no stone unturned,” said Camp in a statement. “That includes using social media to reach dog-owners who might have a perfect Benji of their own at home.”
When the original Benji movie was made in the 1970s, social media didn’t exist. The first Benji was found in a shelter in California.
To enter the contest, share your dog’s picture on the movie’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/benjithemovie.
